Questions, Answered

Everything families and new students usually ask.

What age can children start Bharatanatyam?

Foundations batches start at age 5. Younger children usually do better waiting until they can follow a 45-minute class — the free trial helps us judge readiness together.

I'm an adult with no dance background. Can I join?

Yes. There are dedicated adult beginner batches (including a Sunday batch on this sample schedule) that assume no experience at all.

What is the difference between Bharatanatyam and fusion here?

Bharatanatyam is the classical form — structured levels, traditional repertoire and theory. Fusion blends classical technique with Bollywood and contemporary music. Many teens take both.

How long does it take to reach an arangetram?

It varies with practice and consistency — typically several years of training through the levels. The academy assesses readiness honestly rather than promising a date.

What should students wear to class?

Practice attire (comfortable, stretchable clothing) for regular classes; traditional costume is for performances, and guidance on sourcing costumes is provided. Hair tied back, no socks on the dance floor.

Is the first trial class really free?

Yes, on this sample pricing the first trial class is free for new students, with no obligation to enrol.
